Phoenix VA director to testify before Arizona Senate committee

Today at 9:00 a.m. the Director of the Phoenix VA will testify and give a report to the Arizona Senate committee in the Senate. State Senator Steve Smith called on Glen Grippen to inform the senators on what steps are being taken to ensure better care for Arizona’s veterans.

In November 2014, Grippen was named by the Department of Veterans Affairs to serve as the third interim director after it was revealed that the Phoenix VA Health Care System was rife with corruption and incompetence which led to the death of veterans.

Former director Sharon Helman was fired after the VA Inspector General’s office found her responsible for manipulating patient appointment data, leaving many veterans without care.
